TOURS: Welcome to MTB - week end tour!

(minimum 2 people)

If you do not have enough time for a long holiday, we offer a fantastic long weekend. During these three days you will be cycling on our magnificent mountains in the company of our guide who will allow you to discover 3 fabulous itineraries with breathtaking views.

Day 1 - arrival and accommodation in a comfortable 3 star Hotel in Cernobbio. Before dinner during a“welcome aperitivo” our staff will brief you over your chosen tour. Dinner at your hotel.

Day 2 -RIFUGIO VENINI (1576 mt.) and Valle d'Intelvi. Your guide will take you today to the Rifugio Venini (1576 meters) in the beautiful valley of Val d' Intelvi.
Rifugio Venini is located between Mount Galbiga above Lenno and Monte di Tremezzo. Historic site once witnessed a complex defensive system dating back to the First World War, which is part of the “Linea Cadorna”.
We will climb to an altitude of 540 meters with a panoramic cableway and then begin our tour in the mountains, but without ever losing sight of our beautiful lake. At Rifugio Venini you can then enjoy a typical dish of our mountains or just a light snack like a “panino”.
From the refuge it is covered with a long descent of about 25 km, with a slight climb from Laino to San Fedele Intelvi and return to your hotel in Cernobbio.

Meals: dinner
Distance: from Cernobbio and back Km 67
Elevation gain: 1348 meters
Paved road, from Pigra no car traffic
Level: medium

Day 3 - Today , before you are going to reach the mountains, you will be experiencing one of our most famous and picturesque uphill cycling. The ascent of “ Bisbino”. Many professional cyclists use it as a training climb. The distance requires some effort, but the rise in elevation is on average between 7% and 8%, a regular elevation without spurt and will take approximately 2 hours. Once you have reached the summit, you will be rewarded and enjoy the scenic view over the many Alpine peaks and the Intelvi Valley. At this stage, the most challenging part is over, you will then cycle through the charming valley and Refuges, which will lead you straight to the heart of the Intelvi Valley. Along the route to the Refuge Bugone and Refuge Morelli , you will explore a stretch of charming route, looking forward to a recuperative break at the Refuge Prabello. From Refuge Prabello the descent begins. The first part is the most challenging one of the entire route, but will not last long. All you need is a good cycling technique. We are now reaching the Swiss territory and from there we will easily descent to the Muggio Valley and then back towards Cernobbio.

Meals: dinner
Distance: 56 km
Bisbino ascent about 15 km and elevation gain 1087 meters
Total elevation gain of the entire tour 1450 meters
Bisbino climb is an all paved road with very little traffic, afterwards all mountains road.

Day 4 - Today you will discover the top of Mount San Primo (1682 m), with breathtaking view of the Alps and Lake Como. You can decide whether to cycle directly from your hotel or begin the trail by car, thereby avoiding a climb of about 9 km, with a vertical drop of 700 meters (long but certainly very satisfying!). Any decision, our guide will give you the best advice according to your preparation.
On the “Colma di Sormano” a trail (dirt road) will lead you to the top. Apart from the first section, the itinerary requires a dynamic cycling within the trail in search of the most suitable track, with gradients of up to 15%. This requires a good physical preparation, climbing technique and the right amount of determination.
Once we are getting closer to the Mount San Primo summit, we will leave the bike and walk the final path (too steep and rocky to be cycled). A 10 minutes stroll will lead to the cross erected on the summit of the highest point of the Triangle Lariano at 1,681 meters: here the view is absolutely extraordinary. On a clear day the Alpine peaks are visible, with among others, the famous Grigna Massif, historically the land of Bonatti and Cassin. But other expansive views and stunning landscape are yet to come.
